With the rapid changes in the communications industry,communication products based on technologies such as computers,IP protocols,digital voice,interoperability and multimedia have been developed from scratch,from simple to complex.Video on demand service(VOD)is one of the most typical applications.For the rapid development of video-on-demand service,bringing unlimited business opportunities for operators,it also poses a greater challenge to its network functions.Relevant supporting facilities and underlying support must be in place.One of the most crucial elements is a high-speed,multi-plane,flexible transmission channel.Therefore,it is necessary to design and construct a large broadband metropolitan area network that can bear the video on demand system.The thesis first summarizes the concept,development history,multi-service solutions and survivability of MAN.Secondly,metropolitan area network system as a transmission carrier,need to have a variety of matching technology,protocols and ancillary equipment to complete.Aiming at the problem of interfacing with different manufacturers' equipment,the paper proposes many standard encapsulation protocols such as G.709 and G.872 based on OTN system,so as to avoid the problem of incompatible encapsulation protocols.In view of the drawbacks of poor service flexibility in traditional wavelength division systems,Introduce a variety of unique design and technology to OTN system,such as reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer,adjustable laser,binary code design,while the introduction of electrical cross technology,a good solution to the SDH low rate Transmission and dense wavelength division multiplexing system and other shortcomings of poor flexibility.Thirdly,the thesis designs the carrier equipment needed for the specific metropolitan area network system.OTN equipment from the model selection,system networking,key card configuration,network management systems and many other aspects of design and implementation,to solve the metropolitan area network system required a variety of port protocols,speed,bandwidth and other special needs.Finally,taking the actual metropolitan area network as an example,this dissertation analyzes many aspects such as traffic collection and analysis,engineering network design,specific implementation process,material selection and final test delivery,and provides practical solutions for metropolitan area network system theory and technology Now network instance support.The thesis elaborates the development status and future expectation of MAN,and provides feasible suggestions for the further improvement of MAN.Through the combination of theory and practice,this dissertation puts forward pertinent related technologies and designs for various solution schemes of MAN,which provides the theoretical and practical basis for the development and construction of MAN.
