Cwdm System Standards And Metro Cwdm Solution Studies

Metro Area Network (MAN) is one of the main field of developing and constructing of telecommunication optical transport network recently. Comparing with the technology of LAN or WAN, the technology of MAN is young but fast growing. Plenty kinds of Metro technique are developing at this time. Among them, Metro CWDM technique becomes one of the most competitive solutions due to its character of low cost, high bandwidth, service transparent, simple and flexibility.There are 3 parts in this thesis.Firstly this thesis introduces the concept of MAN and analyses its main characters and service requirements. The Coast WDM technique is deeply addressed by its basic principle, features and advantage.Then detail describes the research for CWDM standard, explains some of the key points in writing Chinese standard basing on ITU-T Recommendation G. 694. 2 and G. 695.The third part describes the system design of Alcatel CWDM METRO solution, Researches optical power budget, network protection and expansibility of system. And analyses some key points of WLA, which is the main part of this solution.
