DWDM is the fast, transparent broadband transport platform, which can give immense capacity in the highway information transmission system. It is more suitable for the use in the long distant backbone. The DWDM system hasn't advantage in the cost and other factor compare with the CWDM system if it is used in the regional/metro networks. CWDM is a good solution in the regional/metro system. It costs lower, and can give more advantages of WDM. CWDM can tremendously avoid the influence to the performance of the transmission system by the fiber loss and dispersion. In this field CWDM is better than DWDM.The main topic of this subject is about the design and manufacture of the coarse wavelength division multiplex in the regional/metro network. This article will introduce the key technology and the relative factor of the WDM first, and then introduce the HCW-1000 serial products of CWDM successfully developed by Hongdaxin Communication Company. This introduction includes: the process of the development of the product; the design of the main function models; the test of the systems and the actual network configuration.I took part in the research of the models OTU and OPM+OPS, so in this article I make an introduction and conclusion about the two big models OTU and OPM+OPS of the equipment HCW-1000.Low cost, high performance, the HCW-1000 serial equipment is already used by commercial ways. This product not only has a wide market in the regional/metro network construction, but also has a great practical meaning.
