With the fast development of Internet,cloud computing and Internet of Things,the demand of network bandwidth and the speed rate of transmission network are increasing,optical modules are towards the development of higher speed.The optical modules of100Gbit/s even higher speed rate have become the main solution nowadays and in recent years.Due to the improvement of transmission rate and the increase of electrical interface,optical modules' dispersion tolerance is becoming smaller.Especially to the modules which used in line-side,dispersion becomes one of the main limiting factors in high speed and long distance transmission.100Gbit/s coherent Multi-Source Agreement(MSA)optical module can compensate the transmission impairment caused by dispersion using Polarization-multiplexed Quadrature Phase Shift Keying(PM-QPSK)modulation technique and coherent detection,and improve the receive sensitivity.But this module is hard to design and costly.This kind of module apply to several hundred kilometers transmission.But for the applications of metropolitan area network and data center interconnectivity which transmission distance is within 100 kilometers,it's not a good choice if we take costs into consideration.Therefore,this dissertation designs a low costs and high integration 10×10G Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing multi-channel optical module for these application scenarios.The package dimensions of this module are180×120×18 millimeters.The 10 DWDM units in it emit 10 optical wavelengths.The highest modulation rate of every optical signals can reach at 11.3Gbit/s,its longest transmission distance can reach at 40 kilometers.This module can achieve the function of digital diagnose monitor(DDM),and is compatible with CFP interface.This dissertation introduces the fundamental principle of 10×10G DWDM multi-channel optical module at first.Then,it analyzes the design details of each part of this module,including power part,emission part,receive part,control part and light path,and briefly introduces the card which integrates the DWDM multi-channel optical moduleand application scenarios.At last,it tests the key parameters of the emission part and receive part of the module,it tests the card and analyzes the test results as well,proving the feasibility of the design plan.The results show that the optical module this dissertation designed can reach the anticipated designing requirement.
