With the issumace of 3G licenses and the development of broadband services,the business ofoperators carrying has a huge change From a lot of voice and a little amount of data services in thepast to the rapid growth of data services,transmission network can not adapt to the nev~trmasmission requirements due to its technical limitations,especially in the metro transmissionnetworks OTN(Optical Transport Network)technology is a nev~type of optical communicationtechnology,which combines the advantage of the technology in the metro transport network in thepast,with its large-capacity scheduling,operation mad management capabilities and flexiblenetworking The characteristics of the metro transmission network make it be the considerationtechnology in the futureThis thesis analyzes the key technologies,application status of the metro transmission networkfirstly.Then the work of research mad analysis focuses on OTN technology in the device types,applications fields,networking,and protect progrmns,mad discusses the equipment selectionrecommendations after the introduction of the OTN technology to the metro transmission networkFinally,combined with the participation of Wuxi Telecom metro transmission networks based onOTN technology design projects,it was maalyzed that practical application of the metrotransmission network technology selection,equipment selection,and networking options Thedesign ideas and network structure were analyzed focusing on OTN technology with schedulinglayer cross-network model program Because of the introduction of the core scheduling layer andusing the characteristic of core nodes,the designing of progrmn meets the requirements of dataneeds and a broader range covered The result ofthe project putting to use has proved that the OTNtechnology can enhance the capacity of the transmission network carrying high-bandwidth IPservices,scheduling and management...
