A Study Of Business Process Reengineering For Digital Publishing In DG Press

As the development of information technology,the publishing industry is fulfilling the transition from paper publishing to digital publishing.With the advantage of portability,update ability,reading convenience,environmental friendliness,and low cost,digital publishing is forging ahead and is gradually cannibalizing traditional publishing market,which can dramatically impact the entire traditional publishing industry.According to the reengineering problem of business process of DG Press during the transition process to digital,this paper firstly analyses and summarizes the research status of digital publishing,e-publishing,and Business process re-engineering(BPR)at home and abroad.Secondly,the quantitative and qualitative method was used to discuss the current status of DG Press,the trends of digital publishing and new problems caused by it.The reengineering of business process and the reorganization of the institution in digital publishing and issuing industry are also studied with BPR theory.The detailed study contents are as follows:1.The analysis of book distribution and market of DG Press.Firstly,this paper briefly summarized the evolution of DG Press.It next statistically analyzed its product structure and total sales with data in five years.With the statistics it then discussed the trends of paper books and digital books respectively,and made prediction of future development with analogy method.Finally in this part,corresponding conclusions are given.2.The analysis of digital publishing business process in DG Press.This paper firstly explained the business process of both traditional publishing and digital publishing respectively,and put forward the problems and the challenges in the transition to digital publishing.Then it deeply analyses the publishing business process of DG Press with BPR theory,and present corresponding business process reengineering plan for publishing and issuing business.3.The reorganization of DG Press' s digital publishing institution.In order to ensure the success of BPR in DG Press,supporting measures are suggested from the aspects of organizational guarantee,talent training and introducing,and management system improvement,This paper applies BPR into digital publishing and present the ways and measures to rebuild business process of digital publishing in DG Press.It can deepen the application study of BPR and in turn contribute to the implementation of BRP of DG Press' s digital publishing business in the future.
