The Comparative Study On The Reports Of Belt&Road

On September 7,2013,Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward a proposal to jointly build the "Silk Road Economic Belt" at Steiner,Zal and bayev University in Kazakh.In October of the same year,general secretary Xi Jinping proposed a joint proposal to build the "maritime Silk Road in twenty-first Century" when he visited ASEAN.In November of the same year,"The Belt and Road" came to the position as one of the three major national strategy.The author of this study used news reports of "China daily" and "people's Daily" on "The Belt and Road" as the research materials.In September 8th,2013 China President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the Steiner Zal University of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev,and proposed to build the Silk Road Economic Belt ".The author regarded it as the starting point of the research.The study end in December 2016 as two newspapers released the final report on ‘The Belt and Road'.The author regarded each related report in this period of time as the study object,doing quantitative statistical data analysis,analyzing the statistical number of news reports on the basis of " The Belt and Road news research framework,then the author compared the characteristics of two newspapers' news reports on ‘The Belt and Road'.Through the comparison,the author makes the conclusion that the two newspapers have the following characteristics: First,the language of the news headline is relatively plain,and the news points are emphasized;Second,mostly news on ‘The Belt and Road' are reported in the view of officials,lacking of different varieties of voice;Third,the theme of the reports tends to be in the area of regional cooperation of ‘The Belt and Road',being reflected in different forms.At the same time,limited by the media properties and genre of these two newspapers,some problems show up as well,mainly being reflected in the following three aspects: First,the news source is relatively single,the perspective of the reports are relatively limited;In the point of news sources,two papers about "The Belt and Road" original news reports are among the absolutely large proportion,only a small amount of news reports are from Xinhua News Society.The two newspapers also showed some homogeneity in their themes.Second,a large number of pictures are used,but the presentation mode is relatively simple;In terms of the use of news pictures,the ratio of the two newspapers to news photos is very high,and the number and proportion of the news cartoons and the news charts are very small.In the case of the reprint of the news,most of the two newspapers were from the newspaper and the editor,and only a relatively small number of news pictures were transferred from other media.Third,the two newspapers focus on both news and comments,but the news channel is relatively homogeneous;From the point of news presentation,"China daily" and "People's Daily" reported on the dynamic and new developments prominently,but did not focus enough on all the stakeholders of “The Belt and Road Initiative”.
