With the rapid development and spread of mass media in rural society,mass media contact plays an increasingly important role in the construction and development of rural society.In the new media environnment,the media contact behavior of rural society also presents new characteristics,while providing information and entertainment,media communication has a great influence on the traditional way of life and concept of life in the countryside.The article is based on the Bajiaoping village in Xixi town,Xiangxi,Hunan province,the field investigation was adopted,and the questionnaire survey was supplemented by field research,collect relevant data and information about the current situation of TV,newspapers,magazines,radio,mobile phones and computers in the Miao village,a detailed statistical analysis of the basic indicators of media contact behaviors,such as media ownership,media exposure,media content preference,and media content trust,was carried out.To learn that the current situation of the mass media in the Bajiaoping village is that TV and mobile phones are the mainstream media in daily life of villagers,the villagers prefer to choose the media content of the entertainment nature,and have a high degree of trust in the information dissemination on the mass media and the media contact habit is compatible with the media literacy and working habits of the people.Television and mobile phones have had a certain eeffect on the villagcrs' lifestyle,while newspapers,magazines,radio and computers have less influence on the village.The lack of newspaper subscriptions in the village,the decrease in the frequency of broadcasting,and the high cost and high demand of using computers directly led to the failure of these three types of media to play a big role.In the new media environment,the villagers' contact and use of new media have led to visible and significant changes in some traditional lifestyles.According to the data of field investigation,it is found that these changes mainly occur in four fields,namely,clothing aesthetics,economic life,mate selection and interpersonal communication.In the aspect of costume aesthetics,the character of "modernization"in material form and concept is more and more obvious;In the aspect of economic life,as the Internet infrastructure construction,the villagers contact new mode for the Internet economy,e-commcrce in the village quietly budding;In terms of spouse-selection view,entertainment media such as matchmaking variety shows and TV series on urban love themes have been accepted by villagers,broadening their horizon and changing their traditional view of marriage;In terms of interpersonal communication,the "Phubbing people" in the village,who rely on mobile phones,have been playing with their phones for a long time.They have closed themselves in the mobile network space and lack communication with villagers and their families.However,mass media contact is a "double-edged sword",while having a positive influence on the life of the villagers,it also highlights some problems.Due to the low media literacy and media criticism ability of Bajiaoping villagers,the mass media contact in Bajiaoping village has many problems,such as the serious imbalance of media communication structure,the impact of traditional consumption concept and the non-selective reception of entertainment content spread by mass media.In view of these problems and the actual situation of the local situation,the paper puts forward corresponding Suggestions.
