With the development of the mass media and the gradual improvement of the popularity of the media, the mass media plays more and more important roles in rural society and the benefit of the mass media also becomes more and more remarkable. This paper starts with this point and do some research on the influence that the mass media has on farmers’ life. This paper mainly analyses this point from the following sections.In the first section, describe the basic information of the investigated places and some information of farmers’ contact with the mass media. The basic information of the investigated places includes the politics, economy, culture and other aspects of the investigated places. The information of farmers’ contact with the mass media includes farmers’ contact time, the contact frequency, the motivation, the preference, etc.In the second section, analyze the present situation of farmers’ life, including farmers’ consume life, the leisure life, social life and family life. Through the analysis of these data, this paper generalizes the close contact between the mass media and farmers’ life and the important role of the mass media in farmers’daily life.In the third section, analyze the influence that the mass media has on farmers’ life. This paper mainly discusses the active influence that the mass media has on the change of farmers’ life from the following four aspects:the influence of the mass media to farmers’ consume life, the influence of the mass media to farmers’ communication life, the influence of the media to farmers’ leisure life, the influence of the media to farmers’family life and so on.In the fourth section, the bad influence of mass media on the life of farmer has been discussed. Furthermore the reason has been analysed and the suggestion had been given.
