The Research On The Performance Evaluation Of University Libraries' Construction To Academic Development

University library is the center of literature information and serves for the teaching and research of acade mic institutions,and it has ve ry remarkable effect on the development of the academ ic.As the inves tment and t he management of library resources in universities are dif ferent,the service quality of library for the developm ent of the academic of is different,too.The purpose of this paper is: Firstly,according to the theoretical analysis,to understand the current situation of the universities directly under the ministry of education and academic development;Secondly,through the analysis of empirical data,to explore the service performance of university libraries for the academic development.Firstly,reviewing the existing research at home and abr oad,through theoretical analysis,to understand the relationship between university libraries and academ ic development;Then,deeply research on the shortcomings of the construction of university libraries under the m inistry of education and the process of acade mic development;Finally,in view of the existing problem s,do som e corresponding empirical research analysis.Secondly,according to the system theory and other related theory of scholars,study of the relationship between the construc tion of university library and academ ic development needs to be explored in dept h.According to the re levant analysis,the construction of university libraries plays an important role in promoting the development of academic,at the sam e time,academic development has feedback function o n the construction of university libraries.The two factor are interrelated and complement each other;According to the conceptual model,establish performance evaluation index system on the con struction of univers ity libraries to p romote the academ ic development,this paper analyzed the establishment of performance evaluation index system from the two aspects of university library construction and academic development,the construction of university library factor,including five aspects of funds,libra rians,library,literature resources construction and information construction,and the academic development include four aspects: th e academic team,personnel training,scientific research,social influence.These seco ndary indicators still contain som e third indicators.The performance evaluation index system estab lished in this study in cludes most of the relevant indicators of university library construction and academic development,which lays the foundation for empirical analysis.Thirdly,although the relationship between the university library construction and academic development has been extensively studied and agreed by some scholars,but most of the studies focus on qualitative analysis and theoretical research,quantitative analysis less.Therefore,the research,based on the canonical correlation an alysis to prove the relationship,is necessary and two conclusions are drawn: 1,The graduate student number,belonging to the variable which is used to m easure the ability of cultivating talent,is the dominant factor of all the influence factor s of academic development;2,The investment of literature resources plays a much more important role in the graduation of graduate than that of undergraduate.Finally,the performance evaluation system has too much indicators,so before the performance evaluation,need to us e the m ain factor analy sis to com press and d elete some useless index,then use the treated indicators to research the performance evaluation level of university library construction on acad emic development;In the perform ance analysis,this paper uses the super efficiency DEA model to evaluate the perform ance of university library's service quality for the academ ic.The results show that the performance gap between different types of universities is large: Science and Engineering University library's service performance is generally higher than that of Com prehensive University.Finally,according to the super efficiency value,33 universities are divided into three categories,namely the super efficiency value in 1~1.6 University(10),0.75~1(9),less than 0.75(14).Then according to the redundancy and inadequ ate analysis of DEA invalid unit,summarizing the reason that makes decision making unit invalid and putting forward some solutions.
