Current Situation Of Henan Province's Services Capacity Of The Combined Medical And Elderly Caring Pilot Institutions

ObjectiveBy an overall research on the pilot zones of Henan province's combined medical and elderly caring to acknowledge the basic situation of Henan province's combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions.According to the current situation of service capacity of the combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of services of Henan province's combined medical and elderly caring,to provide basic information and related basis to the development of combined medical and elderly caring in next step,and to make targeted policy recommendations for promoting the healthy development of the Henan province's combined medical and elderly caring business.MethodsFinished compiling the questionnaire through methods of documentary analysis and Delphi method;Applied questionnaire method to have investigate the service situation of Henan province's combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions;Double entered in the software Epidata3.1,performed descriptive analysis on the social population,economic development,and institutions' basic situations of the survey institutions by using SPSS21.0;frequency and four percentile were applied for statistical description;conducted rank-sum tests on the related data of combined medical and elderly caring services which did not meet the non-normal distribution.Results1.There are in total of one hundred and eighty seven pilot institutions in this research.Among the region distribution of institutions,twenty of them are in the first category area(10.70%),thirty four of them are in the second category area(18.18%),one hundred and twenty of them are in the third category area(64.17%),thirteen of them are from county administrated by province(6.95%).Among the type distribution of institutions' combined medical and elderly caring,there are thirty two medical institutions held by elderly caring institutions(17.11%),eighty seven elderly caring institutions held by medical and health institutions(46.53%),and sixty eight medical and health and elderly caring cooperated institutions(36.36%).2.Amongst the combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions in different areas,except the hospice caring,there are twelve other services which existed differences and has statistical significance(P<0.05).Among them,services in pilot institutions which are in the first category area do much more(P<0.05);services in pilot institutions which are in the second category area do less(P<0.05);services in pilot institutions which are in the third category area do the least(P<0.05);services in pilot institutions which are in the counties administrated by province do the most(P<0.05).3.Apart form remote services and hospice caring,services of the pilot institutions in different types all are with differences which are all statistically significant(P<0.05).Among them,services of the pilot institutions in elderly caring institutions do the most(P<0.05);services of the pilot institutions in medical and health institutions do much more(P<0.05);services of the pilot institutions in medical and health and elderly caring cooperated institutions do the least(P<0.05).Conclusions1.Henan province's combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions can basically complete the service items,and have a good service capacity.2.Classified according to the types of combined medical and elderly caring institutions,the services carried out by pilot institutions of elderly caring institutions are quite comprehensive,and the services carried out by pilot institutions of medical and health institutions are less good,while elderly caring cooperated institutions are relatively worst.3.The service level of Henan province's combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions is uneven in the areas development.There exits relatively big differences among service items carried out in different areas by combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions.Service items carried out in the first category area by combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions are quite complete,however,service items carried out in the second and third category areas by combined medical and elderly caring pilot institutions are relatively not complete.4.In the upcoming development,promotion of hospice caring service,guidance to the institutions for carrying out hospice caring service.
