Objective:Explore the efficacy and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, through the observation of the treatment of children with recurrent oral ulcer(accumulated heat in spleen and stomach)by Xiehuangwendan Decoction. Methods:From October 2017 to October 2018,70 cases were selected from pediatric outpatient department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, which the children with recurrent oral ulcers were meet the inclusion criteria.Randomly divided them into test group and control group. There were 35 cases in each group.During the course of treatment, two children in the test group withdrew from the study for personal reasons. The control group had three children with other diseases, one child withdrew from the study for personal reasons.Above are deemed to abscission patients. The final observation subjects:32 cases in the test group and 32 cases in the control group,a total of 64 cases. Both groups were given Conventional Chinese medicine treatment to treat children with recurrent oral ulcers:Kaihoujian Spray(child type)and Kangfuxin Solution. The test group added the Xiehuangwendan Decoction on this basis. Both groups took 5 days as a course of treatment.Compared the total effective rate after treatment and the local and systemic symptom scores before and after treatment of the two groups. The recurrence of clinically effective cases in the two groups was observed within 3 months after the treatment.Results:1.Clinical efficacy analysis:The overall effictive rate of local symptoms of the test group was 90.9%,while the control group was 84.4%.There was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05).In terms of systemic symptoms, that overall effictive rate of the test group was 93.9%and the control group was 65.6%.The two groups had statistical difference(P<0.05).It showed that the overall efficacy of the test group and the control group was equivalent, however the test group was better than the control group in systemic symptoms.2.Local symptom analysis:Comparison within the group, the statistical difference of local symptoms scores existed within two groups after the treatment(P<0.05).Comparison between groups, there was no statistical difference in the area of ulcers and the number of ulcers(P>0.05),but the statistical difference existed between the two groups,in terms of the congestion, the edema, the pain, and the burning sensation of ulcers(P<0.05).It expressed that there was no statistical difference between the two groups in reducing the ulcer area and reducing the number of ulcers, while the test group treated the symptoms of congestion, edema, pain and burning sensation of ulcers better than the control group.3.S ystemic symptom analysis:Comparison within the group, the test group had statistical difference compared with before(P<0.05),but the control group was opposite(P>0.05).It explained that after the treatment, systemic symptoms of the test group are significantly imp roved compared with before, while the control group didn't have a good therapeutic effect. The test group was better than the control group.4.Recurrence analysis:The recurrence of clinically effective cases of local symptoms was compared between the two groups, that the statistical difference was existed(P<0.05).The recurrence rate in the test group was lower than that in the control group within 3 months.5.Security analysis:There were no cases of other adverse reactions such as allergies, poisoning, and there were no adverse events in both groups.Conclusion:1.Xiehuangwendan Decoction was better than the control group in imp roving the systemic symptoms of children with recurrent oral ulcer(accumulated heat in spleen and stomach).2.Xiehuangwendan Decoction was better than the control group in imp roving the local symptoms of children with recurrent oral ulcer(accumulated heat in spleen and stomach),such as the congestion, the edema, the pain, and the burning sensation, and could effectively reduce the recurrence rate.3.In the clinical application of Xiehuangwendan Decoction in the treatment of recurrent oral ulcer in children(accumulated heat in spleen and stomach),no obvious side effects were observed.
