The Application Of Blank Space Art In Commercial Space

People can learn about the world and change their lives through reading,and bookstores play an important role in this process.Charles William Eliot,the former President of Harvard University,once compared the campus library to the “heart of the university”.At the same time,physical bookstores can also be seen as a symbol of urban vitality,a cultural history of the city and also a good place for people's soul.Since the rise of e-books and e-commerce in 2006,it has led to the depression of physical bookstores.However,physical bookstores' cultural characteristics are hard to be replaced by online bookstores.Bookstores are one of the third spaces besides the working and living space for people and also have a unique social value and academic research significance.As an approach of expression of the pursuit of artistic conception in the traditional Chinese art spirit,“blank space” also reflects the traditional Chinese view of space.Through research and design,the writer of this thesis hopes to apply black space to bookstores space design and through this unique expression way,we can combine this “blank space” with the experience economy.After the transformation,this kind of bookshop will still be able to make “book” as the main body,from design,perceptual technology to think about the relationship between people,between people and things,and between people and space.After thinking,it can awake people's love and the desire to read books.
