Water resources and land resources are the basic elements of sustainable development in the world.Henan Province is the core area of the Central Plains Economic Zone and the Central Plains Urban Agglomeration.Compared with other provinces,Henan Province has a large population,a relatively low level of urbanization,a relatively low level of industrial and service development, and has obvious characteristics of "agriculture-food production".Henan Province,as the key development zone pointed out in the national main functional area planning, will undertake the major task of population and industrial agglomeration in the coming decades.Whether in urbanization construction or agricultural production,it is necessary to build on the basis of a certain bearing capacity of resources. The contradiction between water and land resources in Henan Province is more prominent. To discuss the bearing capacity of water and land resources in Henan Province on the basis of the relationship between water and land is conducive to analysing the bearing capacity of water and land resources in various regions of Henan Province,as well as the spatio-temporal coupling between water resources and land resources,in order It will provide scientific basis for optimizing the allocation of water and land resources in the process of economic development. In view of this, the research is carried out from the following aspects:On the basis of studying the research progress on the bearing capacity of water and land resources and the coupling of water and land resources at home and abroad, this paper determines the research methods;analyses the present situation and problems of water and land resources in Henan Province,in order to clarify the realistic contradiction between water and land resources;and takes 17 cities of Henan Province as units, uses ecological footprint method and spatial analysis technology to study the bearing capacity of water and land resources respectively.Spatio-temporal analysis and coordination degree model were used to study the coupling status of water and land resources bearing capacity in Henan Province. The following conclusions are drawn:(1)The ecological footprint method was used to analyze the bearing capacity of water resources(2005-2015).It was found that:(1)the ecological footprint of per capita comprehensive water use in Henan Province increased slightly, showing the characteristics of northern > Southern > central;(2)and in the internal structure of ecological footprint, the ecological footprint of per capita agricultural water use decreased slightly, the ecological footprint of per capita industrial water use increased slightly, and the ecological footprint of per capita domestic water use increased slight Obviously, the per capita ecological footprint of water pollution increased first and then decreased.(3)The ecological bearing capacity of water resources per capita in Henan Province is declining, and it is continually high in the South and low in the north in space.(4)The ecological deficit of water resources per capita in Henan Province increased slightly;and it is continually high in the north and low in the South in space;among them, the ecological deficit of water resources per capita in Xinyang City and Zhumadian City showed negative value(ecological surplus of water resources).(2)By the ecological footprint method, the bearing capacity of land resources is analyzed.Per capita ecological footprint of land resources(2005-2015):(1)The total ecological footprint of land resources per capita in Henan Province shows an upward trend, showing the characteristics of East > north,South > west.(2)The ecological footprint of cultivated land per capita increased significantly, showing the characteristics of West > East in space.(3)The per capita grassland ecological footprint and per capita forest ecological footprint increased.(4)The ecological footprint per capita decreased in 2006,and then increased year by year. The highest value appeared in the south.(5)The per capita fossil energy ecological footprint value and the per capita construction land ecological footprint increase gradually, showing the characteristics of high in the West and low in the East in space.Per capita ecological bearing capacity of land resources(2005-2015):(1)The total ecological bearing capacity of land resources per capita in Henan Province increased slightly, and it is continually high in the South and low in the centre and north in space.(2)The ecological bearing capacity of cultivated land per capita and grassland per capita in most urban units of Henan Province(except for no grassland distribution)decreased slightly.(3)The ecological bearing capacity of forest land(except for the distribution of non-forest land)per capita increased first and then decreased.(4)The ecological bearing capacity of waters(except for the distribution without waters)per capita declined slightly in a steady state.(5)The ecological bearing capacity of construction land per capita first decreased and then increased, and the high value areas were distributed in the central and Western Henan Province.Per capita ecological deficit of land resources(2005-2015):(1)The ecological deficit of land resources per capita in Henan Province has decreased first and then increased, and is low in the West and high east.(2)The ecological deficit of cultivated land per capita is on the rise as a whole, but in some areas, the ecological sustainability of cultivated land is declining, and the space is low in the West and high in the east.(3)The ecological deficit of grassland per capita is expanding year by year, and the distribution is radial from high to low from the center to all around. The western part is low and the eastern part is high, and Zhumadian city is the highest.(4)The per capita ecological deficit of forest land is relatively stable. The forest land systems in Xinyang,Hebi and Jiaozuo are in the ecological surplus, and the spatial distribution is radial from low to high from the middle to all around.(5)The water system is in the ecological surplus, and the lowest value continues to distribute in the central and southern of Henan Province;(6)The construction land is in the ecological surplus, but it has weakened.(3)Based on the ecological footprint method, the coupling status of water resources and land resources is analyzed by using the coordination degree model(2005-2015).It is found that:(1)The coupling status of ecological footprint of water and land resources per capita in Henan Province is better, and the coupling degree shows a trend of first rising and then declining, and the extremely coupled urban units are concentrated in the northern part of Henan Province.(2)The coupling situation of the per capita ecological bearing capacity of water and land resources is lower than the coupling situation of the per capita ecological footprint of water and land resources. The majority of urban units are in the moderate and low degree of imbalance, and their number is increasing gradually.among them,The coupling degree of Zhengzhou City has been low,Xinyang City has a high coupling degree, the southern part of Henan Province is the highest, and the central part is the lowest.
