Yuan Mei is a famous poet and writer in the Qing Dynasty, known as the "xing-ling said" poetic in parnassus. At the same time, he is also an important diet theorist in the history of our country. The Menu of Sui Garden is the masterpiece in eating theory and practice.Yuan Mei, also called Zi Cai, JianZhai, and named as the old gentleman. At present, the academic research on Yuan Mei mainly concentrates on his literary thoughts and poetic achievements. Since modern times, with the development of economy and the improvement of people's living standard, the academic world has paid more attention to the diet culture. As a result, The Menu of Sui Garden has thus entered into the field of vision of scholars. In recent years, there have been some studies with The Menu of Sui Garden and monographs and articles of Yuan Mei's diet thought. These studies mostly focus on discussing the diet thought embodied in the food menu or comment on the food of menu items. However, this is rare to combine the condition of Yuan Mei's personal travel with friends to do textual research, or further analysis the diet culture of The Menu of Sui Garden and its inheritance and development problems.This article is based on this new perspective to The Menu of Sui Garden as the main research object, and combines with the literature of Yuan Mei and his colleagues to examine the forming conditions of the journal with The Menu of Sui Garden. On the basis of exploring the diet culture of The Menu of Sui Garden, and combining with the relevant theory of intangible cultural heritage, some suggestions on the inheritance and development of diet culture are put forward. Finaliy, the conclusion is extended from the inheritance and development of The Menu of Sui Garden's the diet culture to the inheritance and protection of current food culture.Full text in addition to the introduction, which is divided into four chapters:The first chapter, Yuan Mei and The Menu of Sui Garden. This chapter mainly introduces Yuan Mei's life experience and literary creation achievement and the main content of The Menu of Sui Garden. During his life from study to foster to resign,Yuan Mei traveled to several expeditions of the motherland and made numerous dignitaries and scholars. All of these have laid a solid foundation for his later diet activities. The Menu of Sui Garden is mainly divided into two parts, and the first part of main is diet theory, the latter part is a dietary practice.The second chapter, The Menu of Sui Garden's formation conditions. In this chapter, it elaborates the Formation conditions of The Menu of Sui Garden from Yuan Mei's personal economic foundation, dating and well-traveled three aspects, which focusing on travel and dating part, and combines with the historical materials and the literary materials between him and his colleagues to investigate the specific circumstances of their diet activities.The third chapter, the diet culture of The Menu of Sui Garden. This chapter mainly analyzes the diet culture of The Menu of Sui Garden from two aspects of diet idea, diet allusions and fun .The fourth chapter, the heritage and development of The Menu of Sui Garden's diet culture. This chapter, combining with the relevant theory of non-material cultural heritage protection, it puts forward the problems existing in the process of inheritance and development of the diet culture of The Menu of Sui Garden. And on this basis,some views and opinions is put forward.The conclusion on the basis of summarizing the key points of each chapter,elaborates the inheritance and development of the diet culture, and more questions about the protection of food culture is extended by the study of The Menu of Sui Garden.
