We have seen big changes and challenges brought to the media industry in recent years because of the fast development of E-media and the Internet.Facing the unprecedented challenges,media corporations are actively exploring a new way to transform in order to survive in the ever-changing market.Therefore,innovation and reform in human resource are much needed to help the section better serve the media ventures.As a new professional media corporation led and owned by Chengdu Media Group,Chengdu PTM is responsible for managing and running all the bus-related advertising media resources in the city.However,much of our work belongs to functional management which could not be quantified;thus,it is hard to set particular and fixed assessment standards.The corporation with a rough performance appraisal model,has not yet shaped a scientific and rational performance evaluation system that focused on general structures,leading to the lack of encouragement to staff.This essay based on a thorough research in performance appraisal theories,through references analyses,questionnaires,and staff interviews,is giving some thoughts and discussions on the current performance assessment.For the problems occur in the system,concepts of goal management and project management are used in the essay to better improve the performance appraisal model,in order to optimize performance evaluation system,enhance staff working initiative and work efficiency in all departments,and to finally connect personal performance with the company strategic goal so as to accelerate development as a whole in the end.As a functional management oriented national venture,Performance assessment innovation in PTM's human resource is not only good for the human resource configuration,and a well-rounded and standard regulations,but also good for changing working philosophy---fundamentally renewing a lazy and distracted working mood,deepening system reform,and uplifting the competitiveness in staff and the company itself.
