With the emergence in recent years,the optical fiber communication has become the most mainstream communication technology by virtue of its fast communication and good security.The nations of the world began to vigorously build optical fiber communication network,cable lines also increased dramatically.In the same time,the monitoring of the growing fiber optic cable line has become a problem can't be ignored,the traditional manual cable monitoring method is outdated,unable to complete the large-scale optical cable line monitoring work.In view of this situation,this paper designs the optical fiber automatic monitoring system to replace the traditional cable monitoring method for the feature of the characteristics of optical fiber communication network.In order to monitor the optical fiber network,the entire monitoring system is divided into three layers,including two levels monitoring centers and site monitoring stations.The monitoring center uses C/S mode to facilitate user remote login and system maintenance.In order to realize automatic and real-time monitoring function in the monitoring station,on the fiber optic cable test method,the optical power and OTDR test method combining with geographic information module,used for accurate positioning cable fault point location,and prediction of the optical fiber cable.In monitoring solution,using the main way of three kinds of monitoring,to ensure the real-time testing is closely connected with alarm function,reduce the fiber optic cable line detection time,improve the detection efficiency.TCP/IP protocol uses all three at the same time to connect,to form a whole,through the integration testing resources,realize the monitoring center for monitoring stations at all levels of the remote control and maintenance of power allocation.Through the system testing and user use to reflect,the whole system can effectively achieve the automatic monitoring of cable capacity,greatly reducing the manual workload,improve the efficiency of cable maintenance,and reduce the cost of cable monitoring.As the main designer and developer of the cable automatic monitoring system,the author participates in the system definition,the demand analysis,the monitoring technology research,the system structure stratification,the hardware parameter performance determination,the system function programming,the monitoring network construction,the system test,test problem solving.This paper introduces the development and application requirements,the structure and design of the optical cable automatic monitoring system,and focuses on the design and communication mechanism of the monitoring scheme.Through the application of this system in the optical fiber communication network,it effectively solves the difficult problem of the cable monitoring of the telecommunication company,not only ensures the smooth flow of optical fiber communication,but also greatly reduces the monitoring cos,which brings the higher economic efficiency for the telecommunication company.But also other companies to solve similar problems to provide a reference.
