With the development of optical communication technology, the transmission capacity of optical fiber has been greatly improved, optical fiber in the transmission network has also been widely used, as the cable network is loaded with huge traffic signals, the transmission security and reliability are very important. Establishing an effective network monitoring mechanism to improve the transmission quality is the goal of the current cable network construction and maintenance.Based on the lack of perfect safety monitoring system, monitoring means backward and the information transmission analysis of the situation is seriously lagging behind, China Railway Northwest Institute of Science and Technology commissioned the author's laboratory design and development of a set of OTDR-based slope cable monitoring system to Real-time on-line monitoring and maintenance of the slope cable network. In this paper, the OTDR-based slope optical fiber cable monitoring system design research and analysis, to complete the work are the following:This paper introduces the principles and research status of fiber optic cable monitoring based on the extensive literature review. According to the requirements of the project, the function of this paper is put forward.Since OTDR is an important instrument in optical cable monitoring, the working principle is analyzed and its working parameters are analyzed.The principle, advantages and disadvantages of various monitoring methods are summarized and analyzed. Finally, according to the requirements of the project, the off-line monitoring scheme is adopted.By using the integrated optical power meter in the remote monitoring station, when the optical power value is less than the set threshold, an alarm message is sent and the optical switch is selected. After selecting the cable route, the OTDR is started and tested to locate the fault point.Finally, the monitoring system is made up of remote monitoring station and monitoring center. The hardware configuration and monitoring scheme of the monitoring station are introduced in the relevant sections, and the monitoring center customers are introduced in detail. At the same time, the design and development of the monitoring center client software are introduced.Finally, based on the requirement analysis of the system software,the system client software is developed, including the server application development and the client function page display. Based on the system test theory, the test case is designed to test the client software system and manage the defect. , Iterative development and regression testing to acceptance.
