In the design of modern electronic system,the proportion of digital circuit system is increasing,as the core components of the Clock-recovery Circuit and Frequency synthesis circuit,Frequency Locked Loop(FLL)and Phase Locked Loop(PLL)has been playing a very important role in the electronic system,the performance of which directly affects the abilities of the electronic equipment(radar,navigation,communication,information processing,automation of electric power systems,cloud computing and other fields).Traditional analog PLL have good anti-interference and noise-suppression abilities,however the analog PLL is not easy to be integrated because it uses a complex integrator and capacitor structure,which limits its application in digital integrated circuit system.Full digital frequency phase locked loop with low cost,low power consumption,high reliability,and easy integration has become a research hotspot and development direction of the phase-locked loop technology,so the research on digital frequency and phase locked loop is of great significance and engineering value.This paper studies the design and implementation of frequency and phase locked loop based on Time-Average-Frequency Direct Period Synthesis(TAF-DPS),TAF-DPS is a new frequency synthesis technology.It is characterized by small frequency size and fast frequency switching,which makes TAF-DPS an ideal Digital Controlled Oscillator(DCO).It is completely constructed by digital units.In this paper,we use it as a core component of NCO,achieving full digital frequency and phase locked loop in the true sense.The innovation point of our design of digital frequency and phase locked loop is the realization of the frequency locked and phase-locked loop in the time average frequency mode,the loop works in discrete frequency,which is a strong nonlinear system.Because TAF-DPS DCO can produce discrete frequency directly,compared with the traditional Voltage Controlled Oscillator(VCO),the response speed of TAF-DPS DCO can be quantified,which means the delay of the loop can be quantified,so the response time of the loop can be determined numerically.The frequency and phase locked loop is achieved with Verilog,finally burnt into FPGA to be tested.This is the first successful case of digital frequency and phase locked loop frequency based on the average in time.The design is implemented using Verilog so that many users can get and use it.It provides a simple and powerful frequency and phase tracking tool for system designers,which can be used in many applications.
