Disquisition On The Management Of China Telecom IDC Based On ITIL

With the development of the information technology,data center has become the key of this era.If the data center goes down,it will cause immeasurable economic loss of the company.In Shanghai,the data center business is one of the largest businesses of China Telecom.Its importance is beyond what people could imagine.To ensure the continuity of the users’ business,we must manage the facilities and operation & maintenance system in the data center effectively.However,the unique characteristic of the China Telecom leads to a leading position of the infrastructure.But at the same time,its service awareness is relatively low compared with other data center vendors.Modern data center operation & maintenance management requires that vendors should provide the data center as a service to the customers.This is the inevitable trend of the development of data centers.So we need to introduce the concept of ITIL to the management of China Telecom data center.Based on the local data center in Shanghai of China Telecom,this thesis starts from the planning and construction of the infrastructure,elaborated its importance after the operation & maintenance.A new walkthrough to improve the model can be carried out while some of the ITIL methodology is added into the daily work to carry out,especially into the emergency response,the weakest part of China Telecom.And then output the forms as a result,which can be used in daily walkthroughs.Finally,the ultimate goal is to be able to find problems and solve problems in daily practices,so as to maintain the continuity of the customer’s businesses.
