In recent years along with the data service unceasing increase,the capacity of the communications network progressed by leaps and bounds,In this kind of situation,the breakdown of the communications network will couse a huge economic loss,Therefore the reliabilty of the communications network appears the outstandingly.At present, the main transmission method of the communications network is the fiber optic cable line,Because the fiber optic cable line mostly lays in the open country, which is extremely easy to suffer natural (for thunder and lightning, snowstorm) and each human factor harm,that will cause the line fault, the correspondence interrupt and affect the correspondence,On the other hand,the way of traditional artificial maintenance of the fiber optic cable line is still used domestically ,which is of low efficiency and bad quality ,has not been able to adapt the request of the large capacity communications network maintenance.Therefore it has the vital practical significance to develop the research to the fiber optic cable line automatic monitoring system,realizes to the fiber optic cable line characteristic automatic monitor, the breakdown discovery and the localization, to enhances the reliability of the communications network .This article mainly research the fiber optic cable line monitor system and the application of the Liaoning Province level skeleton line ,proposes the plan plan to the synthesis management of Liaoning Province level skeleton line fiber optic cable line. The first chapter in the paper has made the summary to the present situation of the optical communication and the fiber optic cable line maintenance ,proposed the present way of the artificial maintenance fiber optic cable line has not been able to satisfy the request of the current maintenance of the communications network,which urgently needed equipment automatic monitor system to changes the backward maintenance present situation.Second chapter has analyzed the characteristic of the optical fiber transmission and the phenomenon,character and the reason of the common breakdown in fiber optic cable line , elaborated and compares the principle, function and characteristic of the commonly used method in the examination fiber optic transmission characteristic and the breakdown(light time domain reflection test method and luminous power monitor law) The result indicated that,...
