According to the development of optical communication technology, optical fiber communication has already been the main communication mode in the modern communication transmission. The development of communication technology has been effect by the quality of the optical line. The reasons of breakdown in optical cable line are often the interruption caused by external force, aged equipment, increased attenuation. These faults can cause deterioration slowly even the transmission signal in optical cable interrupt immediately. Therefore we should make great effort to prevent the crises from occurring. The optical cable which are deteriorating slowly should be changed or maintained. And this processing can avoid the service loss or expensive repair and decrease the economic loss which caused by communication interruption. The Automatic Monitoring System of the Optical Cable Lines can realize the distributed, real-time and on-line automatic monitoring for the change of the transmission loss characteristics in optical fiber core and the interdiction of the optical fiber and so on. This system can realize the service and maintenance which can not effect the transmission performance of the optical transmission system.
