The Design Of XMC Interfacebased On PCI Express Bus

A variety of data acquisition equipment applications are increasing with the rapid development of data acquisition technology.At present,the data acquisition equipment mostly applied in the fields such as military,radar,medical treatment and the livelihood of the people,PCI Express bus,VPX bus,PCI bus and Ethernet are the commonly used bus types.The XMC interface this article described has a fast data transmission speed,which is based on PCI Express bus,the interface of the data transmission capacity can be verified by debugging data transmission card.The development and research status of serial bus was first introduced in this paper before a brief overview of PCI Express bus and VPX bus,and study the communication principle of XMC interface,analyze the PCI Express signal for XMC interface design.Then put forward the design scheme,briefly introduces the VPX platform used in the data transmission board debugging,and determine the device model according to the design requirements.In the aspect of data transmission card design,give the realization methods of various module,including power supply module,FPGA module,PCI Express interface module,the data transmission module and clock module.In board design,the power supply on the card is from the VPX platform and voltage conversion chip.In addition this paper gives the circuit principle diagram of the data transmission module,and analyzes the protocol conversion problem between the FPGA and PEX8112 interface chip.To test and verify the data transfer capacity of XMC interface,data transmission card was debugged through the VPX platform.Input signal to the board with outside source,then check the waveform and amplitude of data using software while changing the frequency of the signal input.In the test of data output,check the signal waveform from data transmission card on the oscilloscope.The above two methods fully verified the XMC interface data transfer ability.
