In recent years, the party and the state leaders have attached great importance to the nationwide reading. Some strategies, such as building a scholarly community and nationwide reading, which have been paid greater attention to,have become an important goal for China's cultural development, their forms and content becoming increasingly abundant. An upsurge of construction in the cultural sphere has already arose in every part of the country.Scholarly Communities,Scholarly Cities and Scholarly Campuses have become the key words and hot topics in the industry, and building a Scholarly Society has turned into the ultimate goal of "Nationwide Reading".As a special institution of public cultural services, college libraries participate in public cultural services, carry out national reading and take part in scholarly community construction, which is one of its functions to realize its social responsibility and improving social functions.Based on the theoretical basis as well as the past and current situation of the participation of college libraries in the construction of a scholarly society, this paper learns the experience of building a scholarly society from some other places in China and the mode to serve the society from foreign college libraries, taking Bozhou College as an example to analyze the current situation of the participation of colleges in the construction of a scholarly society and the existing problems of it.It also illustrates the countermeasures for colleges to participate in building a scholarly society,on the basis of which it puts forward building Amazon-like online libraries,a new concept of college libraries' service mode. These countermeasures and concepts not only offer a proper way to develop college libraries, but provide theories and resources to support the construction of a scholarly society and the concept of nationwide reading.
