Research Of SGSN Pool In Mobile Packet Switch Core Net Work

In the traditional mobile network, SGSN is an important network node. If the SGSN malfunction, there will be an enormous impact to the network. In order to deal with this risk and achieve the maximum utilization of equipment resources, the SGSN pool technology is introduced. SGSN pool group is realized by fully connection of RAN nodes to multiple CN nodes. When one of the SGSN malfunctions, the other SGSN in pool group can take over the load on it. At present, SGSN pool technology has been widely used in the world and achieved good results.We study basic principles and technical features of SGSN pool first. Then we introduce NNSF and NRI values which are used to do load balancing work. After that we submit the problems found in the traditional mobile network, and the idea of SGSN pool transformation.Then we introduce the current situation of Jiangsu Unicom core network and the preparation of SGSN pool transformation, so that we can analysis the problems of SGSN pool transformation which need to be solved one by one. After that we get the implementation plan of SGSN pool transformation.At last, the concrete implementation process and functional verification of SGSN pool are investigated This research is divided into two parts, no-load test and operating network test. After analyzed the test result of a half-year network running, assessments prove that all indexes of service load, balance and network quality are good. It is proved that the realization of SGSN POOL played the effective role in core network.
