A Study On Model Construction Of University Library Virtual Reading Community

The library circle and publishing circle are undergoing a great variety of changes as a result of the rise and development of digital reading.Reading materials change the readers' reading habit and reading method. readers in the originally isolated position are aggregated by the Internet, and spontaneously formed a series of virtual communities based on interests and hobbies. Nevertheless, spontaneous reading behaviors' existing features reflect its obvious tendency of utilitarianism, superficialization and entcrtainization, the quality of reading is being weakened.On this background, undertaking the function to improve readers' reading literacy and humanistic quality,the library have the obligation and responsibility to instruct readers to make further efforts on Classics Reading, deep reading,etc. Correspondingly, traditional reading promotion & Guidance methods don't meet the need of new media reading, the effect of reading & guidance services are facing the query and challenge. Therefore, fitting in with the requirements of digital environment and readers' reading behavior's change;library as the subject,setting up the mode of digital reading promotion and service.These can be the main attention and means that library would emphasize to deepen the existing reader service and reading guidance under the digital environment.This research draws from the concepts of mobile Internet such as SoLoMo,O2O, the theory of virtual community user Stickiness,selects the virtual community as the cut-in -point of libraries' reading promotion in the background of digitization. The main research contents three parts as follows:(1)Based on a series of questionnaires, including The Present Situation Investigation of University Libraries' Printed Book-borrowing records,The Questionnaire of University Students' Digital Reading Behavior and Investigation on the Use of Network Reading Platforms,it reveals the reading ecology&status of readers in digital age;and combines readers' requirement interviews to make clear reader and library's individual appeal,to confirm library's reading trend and location.(2)Using the existing reading communities &digital reading platforms'advanced technique&service modes in our country and abroad for reference,to construct the model framework of virtual reading community with library as the dominant factor,and furthermore to design the function modules.About the design concepts.it aims to combine library background system's service links just like resources construction,knowledge organization with front reader service work.Then based on it,the library can achieve the aims of enhancing resources utilization rate,retaining readers,promoting reading, as well as moralizing the readers.The model founded in this text contains four modules, Resources Organization Space Module, Reader Personal Space Module, Public Communication Space Module,and Library Reading Guidance Service Space Module.(3)During thee stage of empirical study,it takes the Book Paradise,the unique whole media E-Magazine of the Top Ten Library Internal Periodicals of Reading Promotion Activities in 2014 as an Example.By upgrading initial platform,constructing the Book Paradise virtual community,exploring the reading platform service mode including university library readers'interactive reading,library online-to-offline_interaction service.The innovation of this dissertation is that (1)Extension of library reading guidance theory.Based on the traditional reading guidance service,it develops a new filed&direction about digital reading guidance to adapt to the development of times;(2)Innovation of library reading service pattern.Referring the existing commercial reading platforms' experience, the model framework of virtual reading community with library as the dominant factor is established,is an innovative practice under the Internet thinking.It has guidance & reference value for library to develop some elated works as digital leading promotion & gurdance.The university library virtual reading community model constructed in this research is an muoeative attempt that libraries actively adapt themselves to the new condition,firmly pushing forward reading promotion & guidance works,and it is also the value of this research.Generally speaking,related research is just preliminary exploration,theoretical discussion and empirical research are both remaining for further study.
