Books are human spiritual sustenance.Reading not only can improve a person's spirit,but also is the embodiment of Spiritual Soul on a national or a country,especially an important way to improve national cultural soft power.Since the ancient times,a fine reading traditional is maintained by the Chinese nation.Verses,ditties,odes and songs--the four forms of poetry,Confucian classics,history,philosophy and literature are all the embodiment of the ancient elegant life.With the rich development of the network,however,TVs,movies,games and other entertainment occupy most of students' time.The after-school reading has became less and less.Since UNESCO set "world reading day" on April 23,many university libraries in China have held Library and Reading Cultural Festival from April to May and September to October every year.The university libraries in Liaoning province are researched by author in this thesis.The author not only research development of reading promotion activities of the university libraries in Liaoning province and the reading habits of Liaoning university students,but also,the author proposes a upgrade strategy.All of six chapters in this paper.Content as follows:Introduction.It not only introduces the research background,objective,Significance,main content and research methods and discusses the development status about domestic and overseas from the practical and theoretical aspects in this paper,but also,it put forward the innovation in it.The first chapter is introduces theories on university library reading promotion.What reading promotion is has been discussed in this chapter.It also introduces the concept,type and characteristics of the university library reading promotion activities.The author puts forward the significance of the university library reading promotion activities.The second chapter is research and analyze on Liaoning university library reading promotion activities.The author investigates 65 university libraries in Liaoning province about the reading promotion activities,and analysis the the active time,activity subject,the host department and activity form in detail.The third chapter is introduces some cases about the university library reading promotion activities in Liaoning province.This paper uses a sampling method to select the Dalian Maritime University(science),Dalian Medical University(medical farmers class),Liaoning University(comprehensive)and Shenyang Normal University(normal)as a case study from three aspects:communication channels,organization and the main content.The fourth chapter is research and analyze on Liaoning university library reading promotion users.In this chapter,author carries out a internet questionnaire survey on Liaoning university students reading behavior.The author has analyzed seven aspects in details: the user's reading time and online time,reading quantities,reading ways,the frequency to the library,situations and evaluations on participate in the reading promotion activities,types of favorite book and reading promotion activity.The fifth chapter is think about the university library reading promotion activities in Liaoning province.This chapter summarizes the deficiency in Liaoning university library reading promotion activities including: it weren't paid enough attention,were carried out imbalance,had no a close cooperation,a professional agency and experts and no strong propaganda work,monotonous form,lacked brand activities.The author proposes that,the university library reading promotion activities should be attention,be sustained,have a close cooperation,be propagandized strongly,innovation and personalized service.The sixth chapter is a summary.It summarizes to the full text and put forward prospects to the university library reading promotion activities in Liaoning province.
