With the increasingly complicated of space missions, spacecraft is assumed to possess more and more functions, and shows the diversity and complexity of features, meanwhile, the capacity and reliability of the data processing is also expected higher requirements. Space Wire is a data network standard released by the European Space Agency(ESA) in 2003, which has several features, such as serial, high-speed(2Mbps ~ 200Mbps), point to point and full-duplex. Compared to other buses, it has characteristics with flexible topology, good anti-radiation, error detection, exception handling and fault isolation. Space Wire has been widely used in many space missions since its release.Firstly, the research background is introduced, and by comparing various bus used in aerospace, the advantages and applications of Space Wire in space tasks are proposed. Secondly, according to the protocol standards, the six-layer structure of Space Wire is described in detail. Thirdly, exhaustive research on time-code has been conducted. Fourthly, the design of the Space Wire interface unit and the module partition is done, and also the functional simulation of time code transmission in the network has been completed. Fifthly, to improve the reliability of the system, the network with redundant links has been designed, and the feasibility of the program using functional simulation is verified. Finally, the improvement direction of the research which may be usefull is discussed.
