Research On Software Project Management Based On Agile Development Methods

With the development of computer technology, the demands for software products are growing rapidly, which put forward higher requirements for the management efficiency of software development. This requires reducing development costs. At the same time, the development team should be able to respond promptly to the feedback from customers, handle properly the loss of turnover of staff, solve technical problems, and finally deliver of products to customer satisfaction. The agile management method has been studied in this thesis on how to solve the various problems faced by software development projects. Through iteration, customer engagement, rapid updates and other methods, the agile management avoids the drawbacks of the traditional project management. It responses in a timely manner to complex customer requirements while it also takes into account the division of function module and the uniform of overall project.From the perspective of project management, the special nature of software project management has been considered. Software project management has been researched on and the existing problems from the traditional project development have been pointed out. To deal with the problems, agile management method has been applied.On the basis of extensive review of agile development management related concepts, the principles and models as well as methods of these agile management have been applied into the whole management of the software development process. The agile management has been applied into the specific software development project named ?Ximage?. Its task is to download software operating system by mirror recovery. How to apply agile management step by step in the project development process has been analyzed by level architecture design, requirements analysis and development of four iterations sprint of the project. The benefits for software project management which agile management brings have been demonstrated.
