The development of information technologies changes the way of our life in every respect. A significant trend of this development is that people set more and more value on the software than hardware comparing to a decade ago. From Graphical User Interface (GUI), Functionality, Application Programming Interface (API) to the applicable scope of software differs from each other immensely. This multifariousness challenges the experienced and new software engineers to think out a modern software development model with efficient implementation to achieve the combination of good quality, low cost and smart schedule management. This paper begins with the description of some challenges in the modern project management. Several currently used models are first exposed before introducing the Agile methodology, with its definition, component, application scope and its benefit comparing to other traditional software development models. Two former projects from author's experience then help to illustrate how to:1. Integrate user story with use case to make a better understanding of requirement;2. Use Agile Estimation to support a robust project planning;3. Implement simplified continuous integration to reduce the efforts and improve the coding quality and4. Apply―build once, deploy multiple‖refactoring to satisfy client's low cost, quick implementation requirement. The above mentioned Agile practices outperforms the traditional models in more accurate project time and effort estimation, fewer error rate and better customer feedbacks. It is strongly recommended to apply Agile methodology and practices for other complicate and dynamic projects. The outlook of further improvement of Agile methodology closes the paper.
