With the progress of Science and Technology and the advent of the digital age,the new media based on network have developed rapidly and became the new mode of transmission after traditional media,such as books,newspapers,radio,television and so on.How to make full use of the active role of the new media and avoid its negative effects has become the urgent problem,that is what the modern people need to face.As one of the audience about the new media and the particularity of their profession,middle school teachers should pay more attention to improve their ability about identifying,selecting and using information,make full use of the new media to serve their own education teaching services.This research mainly adopts documentary analysis and questionnaire survey.First of all, the paper defined the meaning of new media and media literacy based on combing the domestic and foreign research status of media literacy in the new media age systematically.In the study,questionnaire design is from the cognition of the new media,attitude towards the new media,the use of the new media in teaching process three-dimensional,and then give actual survey on the status of media literacy to more than 2000 middle school teachers in Jiangxi province though distributing this questionnaire.The findings shows that middle school teachers' media literacy in the new media age in Jiangxi province has a higher general level,it mainly shows in three aspects:(1)they have certain cognitive about the new media and be in favor of the new media as an important channel to get information.(2)they are more concerned on new media's influence on the teaching and hold a positive attitude to training of new media.(3)new media has become the main channel for middle school teachers to consulting teaching materials,it also has a higher utilization rate when teachers facing teaching problem.But the media literacy of middle school teachers also has many problems as below:(1)the cognition degree of the new media is lower and understanding of emerging way of education is incomplete.(2)most middle school teachers have low trust about the new media,they still tend to believe traditional media.(3)the use of new media in teaching process is not enough,especially in some teaching activities,just like lesson handling,communicating with colleagues,students and students' parents and so on,the ability to grasp the main idea of information on theInternet needs to improve too.According to the present problems, this paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions:(1)the education management departments should provide the corresponding support.(2)the school should attach great importance to teachers' training of media literacy.(3)teachers should strive to raise their level of media literacy.
