Research On Urbanization And Ecological Environment Coupling Of Resource-based Cities In Central Region

Rapid urbanization give ecological environment tremendous pressures.For resource-based regions,the interaction between urbanization and ecological environment is more prominent due to excessive dependence on resources and the extensive mode of economic development.How to coordinate the relationship between urbanization and ecological environment is an urgent problem for resource-based regions.This paper selects the 37 resource-based cities in central region as the research object.Analyze the characteristics of urbanization and ecological environment in resource-based regions with the qualitative research methods.Secondly,established urbanization and ecological environment evaluation index system of resource-based cities with urbanization and ecological environment coupling relations theory.And then using the coupled model of coordinated development to calculate and analyze the level of urbanization and the ecological environment coordination of the 37 resource-based cities in central region.The 37 resource-based city is divided into four categories which are growth,mature,decline and regenerative types and analysis the characteristics of urbanization and ecological environment coupling relations of different types of cities.The main findings are as follows:(1)Urbanization and ecological environment coupling level of central cities of resources in recent years is between 0.5-0.8,at the stage of the coordinated development.Urbanization and ecological environment have been basically across the antagonistic period.(2)The urbanization comprehensive level of resource-based cities in central region has increased rapidly in a decade and the ecological environment comprehensive level displayed a fluctuating rise.However,the level of urbanization is still low relative to the developed areas.The ecological environment has improved slightly,but due to the long-term damage,the environment quality is poor.This became the main reasons that urbanization and ecological environment coupling coordination has been in the low degree of coordination.(3)Different development stage of resource-based cities showing a different characteristics about urbanization and ecological environment.Urbanization level of the growth city in recent years rising rapidly and there is a lot of room for growth and ecological environment level is good but showing a downward trend.Urbanization level of the mature city is not high because in recent years the development focused on the development of resource-based industries.Declining city is in the barely coordination phase of urbanization and ecological environment and the ecological environment level is the lowest.Regenerative cities are basically in the middle stage of coordination.(4)Urbanization lag type is more than the ecological environment lag type.This is the main cause that urbanization and ecological environment coupling coordination has been in a low degree.Finally,gives some suggestions.
