Urbanization is the general trend of human society development since the industrial revolution,but there are also a series of environmental problems resulting from the rapid development of cities.With the acceleration of urbanization process,environmental pollution has become increasingly serious.which leads to unprecedentedly threats and damages to the ecological environment as ever before.How to maintain the sustainability of the ecological environment in the process of the rapid urbanization and to harmonize the relationship between urbanization and ecological environment are research hotspots of environmental ecology and urban ecologgy.In order to study the relationship between urbanization and ecological environment.Dongying and Binzhou,the core regions of the Yellow River Delta,were selected as the study areas.Based on the foreign and domestic research results,combined with the actual situation of the research area,a coupling coordination evaluation system of urbanization and ecological environment was constructed.The level of urbanization and ecological environment development in the core regions of the Yellow River Delta were comprehensively analyzed from 2002 to 2016.Afterwords,the coupling coordination measurement model was applied to study the coupling coordination relationship between urbanization and ecological environment in the study area from 2002 to 2016.On this basis,the emergy analysis method was used to analyze the material flow,energy flow and currency flow,which affected the metabolic relationship between urbanization and ecological environment,so as to understand the internal and external factors that influence the metabolism between the two systems.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)During the fifteen years from 2002 to 2016.the comprehensive level of urbanization in the core regions of the Yellow River Delta showed a rapid upward trend,in which the role of economic urbanization was the most obvious.During this period,the comprehensive level of ecological environment in the core regions of the Yellow River Delta showed a fluctuating upward trend.in which the level of environmental governance had the greatest impact.In general,the urban development and ecological environment presented a good development trend.(2)The coupling coordination types of urbanization and ecological environment in the core regions of the Yellow River Delta experienced five stages from mildly maladjusted recession to well coordinated coupling from 2002 to 2016.Especially from 2008 to 2016.influenced by the construction strategy of the "High-efficiency Ecological Economic Zone of the Yellow River Delta",the local government further increased the emphasis on ecological environnmental protection while accelerating social and economic construction.Finally,the relationship between urbanization and ecological environment developed into well coordinated coupling.(3)The total emergy used in the core regions of the Yellow River Delta gradually increased from 2002 to 2016.Especially in 2009,the implementation of the national strategic construction led to a large increase in external import resources,and the external import elements had gradually replaced internal resources as the dominant factor.During this period,the emergy per capita in the study area had a palpable increase,and the social welfare and people's living standards increased significantly.(4)The emergy to money ratio in the core regions of the Yellow River Delta showed a downward trend from 2002 to 2016.indicating that the metabolic intensity of the study area was gradually decreasing and the efficiency of social energy use was increasing.At the same time,the dependence of socio-economic development on external factors was gradually increasing.The development of cities was shifting from relying on internal resources to export-oriented cities with import and export as the main metabolic model.(5)The environmental loading ratio in the core regions of the Yellow River Delta continued to increase and the environmental load was gradually increasing from 2002 to 2016.With the implementation of the regional national strategy and the transformation of urban areas from resource-based cities to comprehensive cities,the factors that led to the environmental load gradually shifted from interior to the exterior,this may be an inevitable trend in the development of resource-based cities.In summary,the comprehensive level of urbanization and ecological environment showed an upward trend in the core region of the Yellow River Delta from 2002 to 2016.The relationship between the two systems had gradually developed into well coordinated coupling.The total emergy used and social energy efficiency continued to increase.The metabolic model of the study areas gradually changed to export-oriented and the factors that led to the environmental load gradually shifted from interior to the exterior.This study can not only provide a basis for socio-economic construction and ecological civilization construction of the study areas,but also provide a scientific reference for the construction of other similar types of cities.
