Temperature and humidity testing is an important part of modern detection technology. With the development of industry and agriculture, temperature and humidity monitoring systems become more and more important in many fields, such as safety, product quality and energy conservation, meanwhile the testing requirements are also increasing. The traditional temperature and humidity monitoring system adopts the method of cable transmission, which lead to a series of problems such as low flexibility, inferior extensibility and the serious interference phenomenon.For resolving this problem, this paper designed a set of temperature and humidity recording device system based on Internet of things. The system architecture is divided into two parts including temperature and humidity monitoring and recording device terminals. Temperature and humidity recording device is the hardware platform of the system, which used the ARM as the core processor. The data acquisition terminal measured used a high precision temperature and humidity sensor and a GPS module to realize data acquisition. Then the data is transmitted remotely to the monitoring terminal for further processing by accessing to the Internet through GPRS wireless module and TCP/IP connection. Monitoring terminal is the host computer of the system, which has the function of real-time display and data monitoring. The system can effectively overcome the defects of data transmission distance in traditional detection methods. Having advantages of convenient operation, high precision and good extension performance, the system is very suitable for transmission of small amounts of data in wireless mobile occasions.Based on the detailed and objective study of the temperature and humidity monitoring system from domestic and international, this paper presented the design goal and the design scheme of the system. In this paper, the overall structure and working principle of the system are introduced. Firstly, this paper has analyzed the key technologies related to the system such as wireless communication technology, GPS positioning technology and temperature and humidity data acquisition technology. And then, the modular design of hardware and software of the system were completed after a detailed argumentation about the system’s design scheme. This paper also expounds the working principle of the system’s hardware circuit and software design process. Finally, the hardware realization of the temperature and humidity recording device and the software development of the host computer monitoring terminal are finished in the paper. The overall functional test results of the system show that this system was able to complete the collection and detection of the temperature and humidity data very well. Having advantages of mobility, real-time and user-friendly, the system which has a certain practical value, was able to lift the efficiency of data acquisition and monitoring in moving occasion.
