Winter in northern China, the central heating is very common way of heating. Every year,17provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions where the central heating is needed, accounting for more than60%of the whole country, and the population in these areas is about more than700million. The energy that is consumed for heating every winter is initially estimated amounting to nearly700million Yuan, about a quarter of the whole energy consumption of the nation. The central heating is nearly90%of the national heating ways totally. But a lot of energy is wasted by the old extensive way of central heating, so reducing the waste in the central heating is very important in energy conservation and efficient use, and emission reduction, the same as the idea of our nation in developing the economy in a green, low carbon and environmental protection way.With five thousand years history, our country is one of the four ancient civilizations. Many precious historical relics are left during the long history river of the several thousands of years. To us modern people, these valuable are non-renewable wealth, and how to protect these wealth well is a problem we need consider. According to the first investigation about the corrosion loss of the whole nation historical relics in all museums, nearly half of all these historical relics are corroded and damaged at different levels. However, one of the main causes of the historical relics damage is the temperature and humidity under an abnormal condition. Besides this, the same problem is faced to the books and files conserved in the libraries and archives.To resolve the problem in these conditions above, a network remote monitoring temperature and humidity system based on C8051single chip is designed and achieved in this paper. The system contains the temperature and humidity network collector nodes, the server, and the users’terminals. The temperature and humidity network collector node uses C8051F040single chip as its central controller, AM2301as its temperature and humidity sensor, and CP2200as its Ethernet communication controller. The temperature and the humidity data in the monitoring area could be collected by the collector node, and sent to the database of the server. The information of the temperature and the humidity could be displayed and viewed real time by the ordinary uses or operators through the browsers over the PC or other clients. Not only could view these real time information, but the managers could set the bound of the temperature and humidity, the period of time, and the alarm.Following the general procedure of the embedded product designing and development strictly, the circuit schematic diagram and the PCB designing of the temperature and humidity network collector is completed, as well as the manufacture, debugging and testing of the sample collector. Also, the website and the database on the server are built. The test results indicate that the system designed and achieved in this paper is steady and reliable, and it could be applied in the two conditions above.
