Since the reform and opening-up, the competition between the university press has been increasingly fierce. After China’s accession to the WTO, the University press is proposed higher request of industrialization development. The competition exists not only in the domestic university press but also exists between the domestic university press and the foreign university press. In order to further strengthen the competition of the university press, avoid relying on national related policy and funding support, General Administration of Press and Publication and the Ministry of Education jointly promulgated Implementation plan for the reform of university press. They ask the university press to fully complete in the reform of the press. In 2007, B University Press completed conversion to the enterprises, realize the great leap forward development. The sales and economies of scale developed rapidly. Effective make the state-owned assets in the complete value of steady growth at the same time, realize the reasonable value of state-owned assets. Gradually exposed in the reform period, a lot of management personnel, personnel performance appraisal holes is more prominent.According to the B University press, the staff performance appraisal of the current management mode of the status quo of in-depth investigation university press is used to be compared and analyzed. The gap of performance assessment mode among the university press is present. The problem and the reason are discussed. And the scheme is proposed to improve the performance assessment of B University Press. Finally, the countermeasure of improving the performance assessment is carried out.In the context of the competition among Universities Press and vigorously developing the human resource management, the diversified assessment system and scientific and efficient management mode are formed through scientific and effective administration and infinite variety ways that meets actual situation. Compared with the performance assessment of domestic and foreign university press, it can be seen that the performance assessment of B University Press has its own characters and there exists the gap. In order to improve the performance assessment system, it should be analyzed from plan, goal and process of the performance assessment. Moreover the application of the final results should also be considered. The solutions and countermeasures to improve the feasibility and necessity of the performance assessment of B University Press are presented.
