Design And Implementation Of Data Center Assets And Personnel Management System Based On RFID Technology

Information technology has been evolving for decades, and enterprise’s information technology sector keep increasing their data center’s asset size. Now, they have critical concern on feasibility, security, maintainability, and monitoring for their data center. With the revolution of IoT (Internet of Things), RFID technology can bring incredible value to data center’s asset and personnel management system.This thesis takes the business, functionality, technology, and implementation perspectives with the ITSA methodology to complete the research, architecture and execution. The main work done by the author is as follows:(1) Investigate and survey the current situation of the corporation’s asserts and personnel management. Propose an automatic monitoring solution to the assets and personnel management of data center. Reduce the cost of data center management significantly and improve the efficiency, accuracy and timeliness.(2) Carry out a comprehensive comparative analysis on usage scenarios of the assets, personnel and environmental monitoring system. Compare various RFID technology and cost factors. Determine RFID hardware and technology selection and solution architecture. Adopt the way of real-time passive monitoring scheme and uses low price passive RFID Tags for asset management. Adopt the way of real-time active monitoring scheme and uses long range active RFID Tags for personal monitoring. Improve the overall benefit of data center management significantly.(3) Optimize label collection algorithm deeply. Improve RFID tag collection efficiency in complex strong electromagnetic environment. Carry out intelligence analysis of tag data based on historical data from multiple sources and real time data acquisition. Greatly improve the accuracy of monitoring alarm.This RFID technology based asserts and personnel management system has been online successfully for the corporation. With the adoption of RFID technology, the corporation can reduce the cost of IT asset management, improves the security of IT assets, and ensures the stability and reliability of the enterprise data center.
