Asset management is an important work for enterprises, scientific research institutes and colleges and universities, in addition, it is an important symbol of the enterprise informationzation. Correctly, quickly and accurately manage instrument asset information has a great significance to the enterprises and scientific research units.This paper presents the design method of asset management system that used the RFID electronic tags as information carrier, the80C51microcontroller and XBee-PRO chip as positioning terminal, LabVIEW and SQL Server2008software as software design flat form, and develops the asset management system based on RFID technology. The electronic management of instrument assets is achieved primarily by software systems, and the positioning function of valuable instruments is achieved mainly by ZigBee positioning terminal and the trilateral positioning algorithm based on RSSI. Positioning terminal is comprised mainly of XBee-PRO data transmission module, power supply circuit module, the MCU circuit module, serial circuit interface module, GPS data acquisition module and A/D conversion circuit module.In this paper, the method of combining LabVIEW with SQLServer2008is used to design the asset positioning and management software, which is mainly to achieve system management, asset information management, asset information recognition, information search, report output, valuable assets coordinate display function. This paper also proposed a tags identification conflict handing method, which improved the means of identifying of a large number of RFID tags and increased the identification efficiency of system.Through the positioning experiments and error analysis, the results shows that the distance error of valuable assets positioning of the system within2meters, which satisfies the actual valuable assets positioning requirements; with the RFID technology using, the device information using non-contact automatic input form, greatly improving the efficiency of asset management.
