Intermediate frequency(IF) receiver is an important part of the modern radar systems,with the development of the large scale integrated circuits, the design of digital IF receiver based on FPGA applying software defined radio ideology has been widely used.This paper designs and implements a 4-channel data acquisition IF receiver, the receiver board consists of the FPGA carrier card and the 4-channel data acquisition board with the FMC interface. The receiver realized the data acquisition of 4-channel parallel IF signal, and completes the digital down conversion based on FPGA, and finally enables real-time high-speed data upload through the PCI Express interface.This paper introduces the design and theory of IF receiver firstly, analyzes the principle of a digital down conversion, multi-rate data processing, CIC filters. And gives the design of DDC algorithm, then verifies the correctness of the design by Matlab simulation. Secondly, gives the hardware design of IF receiver with 4-channel data acquisition, explains the structure and each module of data acquisition card, and shows the circuit schematic design and PCB, then describes the structure and function of FPGA development board. Next gives the software design of IF receiver, describes the implementation of DDC based on Xilinx’s FPGA chip of Kintex7 series, also gives the implementation of PCI Express interface based on FPGA IP core, introduces the transmission and receiver module, and a method to implement DMA. Then it develops PCI Express driver using Windriver on the computer to rececive data. Finally, based on the board’s design content, uses Model Sim software for each module function simulation, and uses the Xilinx’s Chipscope software to capture data for circuit verification. Finally, tests the overall function of IF receiver with 4-channel data acquisition, takes the time-domain analysis and spectrum analysis of data uploaded to the host computer, confirms that the design of 4-channel data acquisition IF receiver is correct.
