The Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology, which is one of the four key technologies of the Internet of Things, has been rapidly developed in recent years. RFID technology uses the radio frequency signals to realize the wireless communication and to achieve the purpose of identification. The research of the reader chip and tag chip are two key branches of RFID technology. In china,the UHF RFID tag chip has been boomingly developed. However, the UHF RFID reader chip is in the reverse situation.This paper introduces a design of the digital baseband circuit of the transmission link of the UHF RFID reader chip. The design is based on the ISO/IEC 18000-6C protocol and refers to the digital baseband circuit of the R2000 reader chip.The main work of this paper is presented below:1. Describe the development of the UHF RFID reader chip at home and abroad, introduce and compare the main UHF RFID standards, analyze on the ISO/IEC 18000-6C protocol detailedly.2. Finish the design of the overall structure of the digital baseband circuit. Detailedly analyze on the best algorithm of each sub-module, design the hardware circuit of each sub-module.3. Make a detailed theoretical analysis on the design of the digital filter, optimize the structure of the digital filter to reduce the power consumption and the size of the filter modules.4. Present a method of frequency offset of the SSB signal, which has many advantages, such as a simple structure of circuit, small size, low power consumption, etc. Detailedly introduce the theory and the design of the frequency offset.5. Give the simulation of every sub-module, complete the system-level simulation and FPGA prototyping verification of the whole design. Detaliedly analyze the result of these simulations.6. Finish the DC compiling and static timing analysis of the design, give the results of the simulation after DC compiling and the report of static timing analysis. Introduce the method of physical design, give the layout and corresponding simulation.
