Micro/millimeter-wave power m odule is an e lectronic module compose of solid state amplifier, travelling wave tube am plifier and DC power. It has the advantages of low-noise and high-gain as the same with solid state amplifier. In addition, it has the advantage of wide bandwidth,high-power and high-efficiency which TWT also has. Both micro- and m illimeter-wave power module are widely used in modern m ilitary electronics especially transmit system in electronic warfare.Vacuum electron device’s gain is not flat, and it is always lower on either edge at the same time higher in the m iddle. We often adjust the input power in order to m ake the output power equal in every frequency points. Solid state am plifier can drive the TWT amplifier and equalize the input power. Equalizer is an important device that can attenuate the extra power in every frequency points. So it’s the core device of SSA.In order to improve the design accuracy and the variety of the equalizer, especially solve the p roblem that transferring the ba nd of equalizing curve and controlling the bandwidth continuously, this thesis put fo rward a new equalizer called branch load equalizer on the basis of traditional equa lizer. Loading a branch on the touchpoint between the main branch and the absorption resistance, the location of input resistance’s short point can be changed, the problem that resonance point will diver ge when transferring the short points by locking resonant frequency can be solved, and the design can be sim plified. On the basis of it, we propose a new equalizer structure called open/short resonance equalizer. Using the intersect charact er between open and short resonance, we can m ake the short poin ts compress or expand by changing the characteristic impedance of resonance. So we can control the bandwidth continuously. It covers the shortages of traditional equalizers. We also design two kinds of solid sta te amplifier. One is at 2 to 6GHz, the other is at 32 to 40 GHz. Both of them reach the equalizing accuracy which is 1.5d B.
