Equalizer plays an increasingly important part in the transmitter of microwave communication and radar systems. In emerging wireless communication and radar systems, broadband application of transmitter continue to challenge the design of microwave amplifier circuit. Better flatness, greater power output, smaller size, higher efficiency and more economical system cost have become the basic requirements to be met by the new transmitter module. An effective way to improve uneven amplitude response is to use the power equalizer. The combination of the power equalizer and TWT (Traveling Wave Tube) has been paid more and more attention to.This thesis has conducted more detailed research on the design ways of the microwave power equalizer. Two microwave broadband power equalizers are designed. These two equalizers have achieved the requirements of equalization quantity and low return loss in specified frequency band. The planar microstrip power equalizer has many advantages, such as small size, light weight, easy processing and easy system integration. It is sure to have good prospects in the compact size and high-performance circuit design. The wideband coaxial power equalizer has met the requirements of the large power capacity, broad weaken adjustable range and the high adjustment free degrees. It will have good practical value in the circuit with complex transmission characteristic as high power TWT and so on.To begin with, this article uses branch microstrip resonators as the basic unit to construct the equalizer, with thin-film resistors introduced into the resonators. Then it optimizes the circuit design template and realizes a well-matched microstrip broad-band equalizer with three different resistor-loaded branch resonators. After that, with the HFSS simulation software, this article simulates and analyzes coaxial resonator and third-level equalizer substructure. These two models are processed and measured according to their theory design models. The good agreement between electromagnetic simulation and test results shows the validity of the theory analysis and the design process. Finally, according to actual request in the concrete project, during the 8-18GHz frequency range,22 coaxial resonant cavities are used to design one kind of wideband microwave coaxial resonant cavity balancer structure which has satisfied the anticipated target.
