Information literacy (IL) is a necessary skill crucial for effective functioning in today’s knowledge society. The term has developed since its inception in1974when Paul Zurkowski, who was the first to use the phrase information literacy, suggested that information-literate people know how to use information resources in their workplace. The information literacy education has replaced the library user education, and the relevant research about information literacy Education also began to develop rapidly. In the21st century, with the user’s own information needs to be more professional direction, the discipline information literacy education began to attract attention.The disciplines information literacy education has become a trend and direction of the university information literacy education. Subject information literacy education in the United States and other developed countries has been carried out for many years, there are many success cases. This paper analyzes the case of disciplinary information literacy education at home and abroad, and to investigate some of the websites on domestic university library about disciplines information literacy education. At present, China is still a lack of discipline of information literacy education model that can guide practice and easy to operate.This paper focuses on discussing the contents of discipline information literacy education of university, according to the case of foreign-disciplinary information literacy and the existing situation of domestic subject information literacy education, constructed of university discipline information literacy education model to provide some reference for the university disciplines of information literacy education. It consists of five parts.The first part:Firstly, introduced the research background, significance and the research situation at home and abroad of the topic. Secondly, it introduces several concepts of subject information literacy education-related, including information literacy, information literacy and academic disciplines of information literacy education. The second part:Foreign disciplines of information literacy education model practice cases and enlightenment. This section describes and analyzes by foreign academic information literacy education cases; draw their inspiration on the domestic discipline of information literacy education. The Third part:Domestic Discipline Information Literacy case studies. This section describes and analyzes the case of domestic discipline information literacy education, find constraints on the development of information literacy. The fourth part:Construction of Subject Information Literacy Education model. This part mainly based on the successful experience of foreign and domestic disciplines information literacy education situation, constructed of discipline information literacy education mode. The last part: Conclusion and outlook. Summarize and discuss the future direction of development of discipline information literacy education.
