Steel quality plays an important role in the construction project. Recently, with the rapid development of the construction industry, some major engineering accidents have occurred due to the quality of steel. In the steel supply chain, it exists many links and participating organizations any of which is likely to experience quality problems in the producing, transporting, processing and using of the process. The lake of effective quality traceability and information management results that it can’t be sure to identify the problem of the source and responsible person in steel inflows. These problems affected the development of the steel industry, and so it is imminent to establish the traceability system of steel quality.Firstly, the application of RFID technology to the steel quality tracing system achieves the transfer and synchronization of information of each link in steel supply chain, and ensures the unity of steel logistics and information flow to achieve transparency in the management of the quality of steel, and to form an effective constraint for each subject. At the same time, it is conducive to the effective monitoring of the steel supply chain. Then combined with the limitations of RFID systems and the label itself, it analyzes the shortcomings of RFID systems insecure nodes and existing security mechanisms. Based on the in-depth study of the properties of the RFID tag, for information security issues of RFID technology in the steel traceability systems, it establishes steel EPC coding system, encrypts RFID / EPC system label information applying RSA encryption algorithm to ensure security of information transmit-ssion. Finally, on the RSA algorithm theoretical basis, using C # language in the Visual Studio development environment, RSA algorithm programming and applications are realized and RSA algorithm is proved rationality and applicability in RFID / EPC system.The establishment of steel traceability system architecture RFID-based can achieve traceability of steel quality and information from manufacturers to the using in the project, achieve the transparency of information in the field of steel, standardize the quality of steel in the field of management, improve information management level of steel. The application of RSA encryption algorithm in retroactive system makes up the defects of RFID tag open information to ensure the information transmission security of RFID system.
