The seed is the most basic means of production in agricultural production,which is the foundation ofthe agricultural development. In the process of cotton production, cotton quality directly affects the benefitof cotton. But in recent years, in the interests of the driven cotton problems occur. In the face of endlessfake seeds and other agricultural materials complaint cases, in order to ensure the agricultural production,increasing farmers’ income, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of farmers, in urgent need ofresearch and development to build a system used to regulate the behavior of seed production enterpriseproduction and operation, purification seed market, protect the legitimate rights and interests of farmers.Cotton quality and safety traceability system is the effective methods to control cotton seed product qualityand safety. Cotton quality and safety traceability system emphasizing the unique identification of cottonand the entire process of tracking, the implementation of the traceability system of cotton, a quality controlmethod for all the information on the supply chain to track and trace, so as to guarantee the quality ofcotton.In this paper, starting from the quality and safety of cotton to cotton as the research object, and tracedthe use of information technology and network technology and other multi-disciplinary knowledge, usingradio frequency identification technology (RFID) and a new generation of EAN/UPC coding standard, thecombination of the distribution of GTIN code based on the article numbering center of China, formulatedthe cotton product traceability codes. By analyzing the cotton in planting, harvesting, processing, logistics,transportation and sale of various links such as the specific characteristics and present situation of theapplication of radio frequency identification (rfid) technology, information system of electronic tags ascotton quality and safety of the carrier, using database technology and network technology in cottonproduction, processing, transportation and selling of the whole process of management, can realize thestrict control of quality of cotton. This topic to take the method of combining the theory and practiceresearch based on radio frequency identification technology of cotton quality and safety traceability system.(1)Collecting, sorting and analyzing the domestic and foreign research results about the quality andsafety traceability system and some successful experience, combined with the feature of traceability systemin our country, the paper research content and the technical route is determined.(2)According to the production of cotton in xinjiang and the whole industry chain, the characteristicsof the cotton in planting, harvesting, processing, logistics, transportation and sales each link of informationacquisition, on the basis of analyzing the potential safety hazard in different stages of the cotton industrychain, on the basis of the existing and goods safety related standards, regulations and norms, screening andidentified the various stages of the cotton industry chain traceability index and safety traceability index keyprocess, primarily established the traceability index system of the cotton industry chain, build digitalarchives.(3)Combined with EPC coding system to traceability phase encoding the cotton products, through the only source code for the information in the cotton industry chain for centralized management, ensurethe cotton products effective records and information transfer in the whole industry chain, and ensure theaccuracy of the data. According to the characteristics of the industrial chain determines the electronic tagreads frequencies, chose to read and write device hardware devices, and the alignment test, the hardwareequipment of technical indicators meet the requirements.(4) Design the structure and function of the cotton quality safety traceability system, the systemincluding planting to harvest management subsystem, the processing management subsystem, logisticstransportation management subsystem and the sales information query subsystem. Cotton quality safetytraceability system based on RFID technology, cotton safety information database was established by usingVB, ACCESS database and multimedia technology to build a user interface, and preliminarily realized thebasic function of information source cotton quality and safety.
