| MARC bibliographic data is the main way to describe the library bibliographic records and has a wide range of applications. With the development of the Internet Age, social cataloging websites, online bookstores and search engines are rapidly emerging. This leads to that the limitations of the traditional MARC format is becoming more and more obviously and restricts the library data exchanging and using in the vast network world. As a new bibliographic data format which can adapt to the future needs and replace MARC,BIBFRAME can solve the problem of the limitations of MARC format.In this paper, the exploration and research of the new bibliographic data format BIBFRAME is designed to realize the association and expansion of the library MARC bibliographic data. Through the literature survey and the case analysis, this paper comprehensive teases the research dynamic of Bibliographic Framework Initiative and systematically discusses the research status at home and abroad. Then generally introduce the development process of BIBFRAME, BIBFRAME Model, Vocabulary, Authorities and Relationships. State the necessity and feasibility of realizing the social association of the MARC bibliographic data based on BIBFRAME. Next part is about the mapping relationship between each field of MARC bibliographic data and properties in BIBFRAME Vocabulary, and the RDF description of MARC bibliographic data. And then do a case study of the valid MARC bibliographic data and the tags which were obtained from the website of Northeast Normal University Library and Douban.com. Realize the association of the bibliographic data, the expansion of creator and the expansion of annotation. In the end, this paper summarizes the association method of library bibliographic data based on BIBFRAME and its case analysis. Point out that according to the attributes and the relations between attribute value using BIBFRAME can realize the association and expansion of the MARC bibliographic data. |
