With continuous development of the global economy and accelerating urbanization process, the market of railway equipment industry will keep steady growth. Seizing the development opportunities, and unceasingly improving enterprise’s operation efficiency will be directly related to the survival of DaLian powder metallurgy factory. Therefore, it is necessary to carrying out informatization in DaLian powder metallurgy factory.ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is based on information technology. It puts the systematic management as ideology, provides decision-making operation management platform for leaders and employees in the enterprise.Presently its meaning has been extended.ERP includes all kinds of software using in the enterprise.The manuafacture mangement system in this paper is only a small category of ERP.Firstly, this thesis introduces the properties and advantages in railway equipment of DaLian powder metallurgy factory.Then it introduces the potential of informatization of railway equipment enterprise from international market and domestic market aspects,and there are some problems in management in factory.It lists the typical domestic and foreign railway equipment industry enterprise’s achievements through applying ERP, and it overviews the development and application of ERP system in China.In chapter 2, it gives the system design based on in-depth field survey in DaLian powder metallurgy factory. The business sources,some concepts,general work flow and function model’s demand division, specific work flow and key points of my work in system are analyzed. A solution factory is given in chapter 3. The development environment, architecture, overall system function modules, several modules’ database and several important function modules are designed and implemented. The system test, performance test are described in chapter 4. Finally, it summarizes the current work and gives the future work.
