With the expanding of production scale and the continuous improvement of automation level, traditional static design of crane could not accurately reflect the real dynamic performance of the crane, especially for the treatment of some special conditions. Therefore, in considering the operation safety and the generalized analysis of the structure of crane, the design of crane put forward a series requirement of a higher level.As an emerging technology, virtual prototype technology has combined with advanced modeling, simulation technology, advanced technology, modern design and manufacture of integrated management. The dynamic simulation of hoisting mechanism could be more accurate by introducing the virtual prototype technology; what’s more, the working performance of crane could be more accurate through the dynamic simulation analysis. Therefore, this paper takes a bridge type of 5t-9m of electric hoist crane as the research object, completing the research of the dynamic characteristics of crane by analysising the working process of the hoisting mechanism based on the virtual prototype technology, the concrete research content are as follows:(1)Based on multi-body dynamics theory and finite element method, this paper established a dynamic model of crane to lift the weight lift from the ground, accelerate the lifting, increase at a constant speed, and the finally deceleration process.(2)Using Solid Works software and ADAMS software as a platform to establish the virtual prototype model of the crane based on virtual prototype technology. According to the actual working status to add constraint conditions, applied load, determine the drive function, this paper realize the dynamic simulation analysis of the hoisting mechanism of crane in the whole working process and get all dynamic parameters of the crane hoisting mechanism. At the same time, combining with the dynamic model, this paper quantitative analysis the dynamic load and hoisting offset load of the hoisting mechanism, so as to accurately understand the dynamic performance of crane under actual working condition.(3)Taking the main device of hoisting mechanism- drum as an example, establishing the rigid flexible coupling model of drum combined with the finite element analysis software ANSYS. Through the boundary conditions and loads information in the ADAMS software, this paper can accurately obtain stress magnitude and distribution of the drum.Through this dynamics research, the actual working performance of crane can be understood accurately; what’s more, it can guide the structural design of crane and provide the theory reference of practical significance for innovative design of crane.
