With the rise and development of new media, the focus of media dissemination gradually began to shift, and the the content of communication is shifting from the plot to the spectacle, while the mode of transmission is shifting from linear propagation to block transmission, and gradually from narrative to landscape. The emergence and development of Media Geography conforms to this historic changes. Geography of media originated in Western Cultural Geography, it is a new branch of chemistry between media studies and geography, the main research object of Media Geography is including the interaction and rules between people and media, social and geographical environment. Compared with general theory of medium, the emphasis of the media geography is putting media phenomenon especially media transmission characteristics in specific social and geographical environment to make investigate and analysis. It is not only concerned about the influence of geographical environment on media form, content and media communication symbols,but also pay close attention to media for the construction of social environment, geographical landscape, geographic samples. Through the imagination and construction of media, a real geographic space appear in front of the audience, so most of the audience in modern society is living in geographical space which built by medium. Audience’s geographical concepts are mostly coming from the media present, rather than a field validation.The core elements of Media Geography includes five aspects of time, space, place, scale and landscape. the meaning of "map" or "imagine geography" which audience understood and faced, is presented by the "media geography". Rational utilization of geographical factors can expand the influence of local media in the process of media communication, and also has a positive significance to promote regional media production and cultural construction. But if excessively exaggerating the role of media geography and blindly pursue regional spread, it is easy to cause the regional discrimination or narrow regionalism and other negative consequences. So we should adhere to the correct academic orientation and have a clear and correct understanding of the geography of media.Based on the perspective of geography, this article selects the Jinan Times of "Lixia pavilion" supplement as case analysis. And selected the text of the supplement from 2008 to 2014 as the research sample for longitudinal analysis. It mainly adopts content analysis and case study method, though quantitative analysis and statistics to study the interaction between "Lixia pavilion" supplement and the geographical environment of Jinan which comes from the content and form of "Lixia Pavilion" supplement of Jinan Times. And then researching the presents of the newspaper supplement to the geographical elements of the city, the newspaper supplement reconstruction on city landscape and construction of city, the influence of geographical environment on the content and position style of the newspaper supplement. It also made an analysis on the relationship between geographical environment and city newspaper supplement, the audience. In the sample study, the article do research on the interaction between paper media and the urban landscape with a core of geographical elements which supplements own, this is the innovation of this paper.
