Research Of GPON Technology And Its Application On High Bandwidth Home Users Access

According to the investigation report on China internet situation released by China Communication Association in 2014, the average speed of home internet users in China at present is only 2.5M,which is still in "low-speed broadband" stage compared with the developed countries. However, in recent years the number of fiber-optic broadband users has increased significantly. By the end of July 2014, fiber access FTTH/O ports in China had reached 135 million, and the total number of fiber access FTTH/O subscribers had reached 55.163 million. In August 31 in 2013, the State Council issued’ broadband China strategy and implementation plan’, officially launching the development strategy of "broadband in China ". The domestic broadband operating companies must be faced with the overall access network and the upgrading and transforming for users structure. The former home broadband business based on ADSL broadband access technology is gradually upgrading to the new home broadband business of high bandwidth based on GPON (Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Networks) technology. In the overall environment, the paper studied on the realization of family 100M bandwidth access service which is based on a provincial operator’s information, proposed a complete plan of network access, and optimized the network application after the upgrading of bandwidth.The paper analyzed the current status of the home broadband business market in China, demonstrated the necessity of bandwidth increase of broadband services, studied the mainstream of the current optical access broadband technology of GPON, and confirmed technical advantages of GPON in the development of 100 trillion broadband business. On this basis, the paper presented an overall plan and design for the provincial carrier with the GPON technology, and constructed a complete access layer network scheme. Finally, based on 100 trillion homes broadband service launched, it analyzed and optimized high-bandwidth network application, so as to effectively enhance the original broadband users’ network perception. On the basis of promotion of home users’ bandwidth, the paper put forward the idea of reducing the cost between internets and enhancing the settlement of Internet, and provided a solution for broadband operators to increase the bandwidth for the home broadband users to 100 trillion.
